Spirituality Is A Conscious Practice

Spirituality is a conscious habit that must be practiced daily. People think that this a a "thing" that you can pick up when life works and when life doesn't work. When life is working, people want to pull out all of the manifestation mantras and incense and "connect with their higher selves" and enjoy the high of this aspect of their lives. When life is bad, people blame the "bad juju" or "witchcraft" and it's no longer "spirituality". It is always spirituality. All of it. The extreme highs, the extreme lows. They are all a reflection of your innermost thoughts and feelings. If you want to know how you are truly feeling, look at your outer world. What is it like? Is it chaos? Is it peaceful? Maintaining the spirituality habit so that what you desire is how you stay in the place that brings you happiness. Here are 5 tips on how to maintain Spirituality as a Conscious Habit. 

1.) Meditate Daily! Meditation connects with your higher self and opens the channels for you to receive messages from the universe, spirit or whatever you perceive the higher being to be. 

2.) Keep your altar alive. Make sure that you are refreshing your altar water and removing debris such as ashes and old meditation tools that are void of energy or that you aren't using for a specific intention. 

3.) Get crystal clear on your intentions. Knowing what you want is 50% of spirituality. Often it's not what we want, it's the feeling of relieve, the joy, the excitement, the thrill that we experience after the attainment of the goal or item that we desire. Get clear on what this is for you. 

4.) Only do the things that are in alignment with what you truly desire. So you've gotten clear on what you want, now it's time to take action. If you want a new car for instance, go to the dealership and look at the car... touch the car... take the car for a test drive.. smell the new car... feel the new car... See yourself owning this new car. This will tell the universe (spirit, whatever you conceive the higher being to be..) that you are ready. This gives the alignment that this is truly what you desire. 

5.) Give gratitude. No really, say "Thank You," daily for any and everything. And truly mean it. Gratitude opens the doors for so many things that we desire, and is the key to peace and an essential foundation to spirituality.
